Who is Dougie?
Dougie is our fictional hero and everywhere-man, the latte-sipping, iPod-listening, pop-culture quoting, Puma-wearing, green-leaning, Halo-playing, 20/30/40-something who generically embodies the voting block that will rock the vote in ‘08.
The Dougie Watch is a tongue-in-cheek journal of Dougie’s suspected activities, as well as discussion of his many thoughts and questions. Some background:
February 12 – Virgina Democrat Dougie voted for Obama. This is a movement, baby!
February 5 – Colorado Republican Dougie voted for Romney because he’s clearly the most rounded and intelligent candidate. Georgia Republican Dougie voted for Huckabee. No one is really sure why.
January 25 - Dougie decided he likes Obama’s book. He hasn’t read it but he loves the word “audacity” and Obama’s self-confident photo on the dust jacket.
January 8 – New Hampshire Dougie voted for John McCain today. As Goose would say, “No. No, Mav, this is not a good idea.” Apparently ‘Live Free or Die’ means voting for the maverick. (For Dougie, one way or another, everything comes back to Top Gun.)
January 4 - Dougie shopped the Prius but ultimately opted for the crossover. His girlfriend drives the Jetta.
